Sending Love to Taitung, Taiwan

        Event background:

Growing up here in Silicon Valley has kept us confined in a safe bubble surrounded by comfort and constant innovation. No matter how pressured or stressful our own lives may be as students in this competitive environment, and no matter how valid these struggles are, it’s still important for us to recognize that there is a world of difference between our lives and those of children living in less economically developed areas. Global Youth Philanthropy provided a way for us music students to repurpose musical skills we’ve been developing for years to bring change to less privileged communities.

Having been in GYP for five years, I feel extremely grateful to be able to contribute to these communities through our own efforts and through organizing fundraising concerts. The impact we are able to make is a lot more personal to me now that I’ve had the chance to visit Kids Alive International two times the past year and have seen the discrepancies in their living conditions as compared to ours.

I hope you will support us in our mission of bringing the privilege we are surrounded by to less developed areas.
